TONIGHT AT GLORY 24 JOE SCHILLING vs JASON WILNIS
VIDEO: Joseph “Stitch em up” Schilling KO’s Melvin Manhoef.
Known for his effective use of his elbows to cut opponents and nicknamed “Stitch ’em Up” Schilling began fighting professionally in 2006 and was a two-time national titlist before defeating Kaklai Kaennorsing to become the WBC Muaythai Interim World Light Heavyweight Champion in 2011. As of May 11, 2015, Schilling is ranked the #2 Middleweight contender in the world by GLORY.
When Jason Wilnis faced Alex Pereira in Brazil 10 months ago, just 8 seconds into the opening round, Alex Pereira threw an inside leg kick, and from then on Jason Wilnis punished Pereira on how leg kicks should be delivered: rock hard, fast and furiously.
Jason let Alex also demonstrated he had heavy hands – despite the commentators not seeming to notice the Dutchman was also in the ring – while using his steel forearms as a breakwall against incoming strikes.
In round two Jason ‘Tyson’ Wilnis shocked the Sao Paolo audience, and the commentators, when he quickly dropped Alex Pereira with a left hook to the liver. Shortly afterwards Jason downed Alex with a brutal leg kick to end the fight in spectacular fashion. Rumor is Jason has been working on improving his stamina and hopes that will pay off in tonight’s fight against Schilling.
Tonight’s fight should be an exciting match.
