Muay Thai (translated as: Thai Boxing) is a Thai hard style of Martial Arts practiced in South East Asia as well as world wide. It is the national sport of Thailand with a long and rich history, where Muay Thai evolved from other arts influenced by the ancient civilizations within South East Asia. Today, Muay Thai is also referred to as “The Art of Eight Limbs” namely because in Muay Thai you are trained to use your hands, elbows, knees, and legs for fight. The Art of Muay Thai is a sport-oriented and is Thailand’s most spectator sport.
Before each match Muay Thai competition a practitioner will preform the traditional ritual of Wai Khru Ram Muay, which is a way to show respect to the teachers and trainers and show respect to His Majesity the King.
