In 2006, Silva made his UFC debut in which he showed to be a tremendous threat.
Silva went on a 7 year run, defeating some of the best middleweight MMA fighters including some light heavyweight fighters in the world. Silva always displayed a huge gap between himself and his opponents; he made it look easy. He also used mind tricks to make his opponents feel like they had no chance. Silva possessed an ora of invincibility and he exploited his opponents because of it; but in 2013 he faced a man that did not buy into his mind tricks. Anderson took his games to the next level, over excessively taunting Weidman. In the mist of taunting Weidman, Silva got hit with a left hook that made history. Chris Weidman became the champion at UFC 162 after knocking Anderson Silva out. Although Chris Weidman ended the run of Silva, Anderson Silva is still widely known as “The Greatest of All Time.”
As of April 2015, Silva holds an MMA record of 34-6.
